Security Operations Center

The Security Operations Center (SOC) is JBG SMITH’s central hub of security operations portfolio-wide.  The SOC is located at 2345 Crystal Drive in Arlington, Virginia and is staffed 24/7 by members of our contracted security team from Allied Universal Security. 

The SOC serves multiple purposes as the focal point of our security operations including:

• Fusion Center – Proactively data mining open source information and intelligence gathering for incidents and events potentially impacting our properties.
• Emergency Operations Center (EOC) – During significant events such as the Inauguration the SOC serves as an EOC closely monitoring activity and providing updates as necessary to security staff and property management portfolio-wide.

The SOC utilizes state-of-the-art technologies such as :

• Crowd sourcing app for real-time information sharing between officers and the SOC.
• Social media monitoring of local jurisdictions police, fire, and emergency management Twitter pages.
• Intelligence gathering and social media monitoring tool proactively assessing potential threats to our properties.

The SOC is continuously evolving based upon the changing needs of security and emergency preparedness in the commercial real estate world as well as the advancement of technology in the security industry.
